Gift It - Pay It Forward

There are many different economic systems. Have you heard of the gift economy? Some people call it the gift culture, gift exchange or even the nature economy. It's where you give with out any expectation of a return. Naturally though something will return to you, take the example of you and your neighbours do something your you as a favour they don't expect any thing in return - it's a kind of gift, however your response is gratitude and the desire to help them when they need it. It's a natural exchange without expectation or monetary value, without balance sheets. The great thing about the gift economy is, the more you give the more people will be there for you when you need it.

Where is a good place to start?

Good question. If you really want to get into the detail then Charles Eisenstein's Sacred Economics is a great place to start.
